Guide To The Best Rooftop Bars in LA

When you hear "rooftop bars" you don't have to worry thinking back to your college nights getting wasted with your best friends anymore. There's so many great rooftop bars out in Los Angeles for any special occasion or any vibe you're going for. I've found and listed some of the best rooftop bars in Los Angeles based on their menus, sceneries, vibes and so much more! Continue reading to find the best rooftop bar for your next date or special occasion!

SPLURGE WORTHY: HARRIET'S

Harriet's rooftop bar at 1 Hotel in West Hollywood is the perfect spot for a date night or any special occasion. The price is a bit on the more expensive side, with some wine selections costing around $20/glass, but it'll sure let your company know that they're something special. The scenery is so beautiful once the sun begins to set, with dimly lit candles on the tables and string lights going across the room -- definite romantic vibes.

DAY-TIME DRINKING: MAMA SHELTER

No judgements here. If you love to have a mimosa or bloody mary with your brunch, then this is the bar to do it at. With colorful decor and the sun shining bright, you wouldn't be able to tell whether it's the decor or the drink making you happy. And as shown above, the bar is full of brightly colored tables and chairs, adding to the excitement of hanging with a couple of friends, having a good time!

BEST VIEW: SPIRE 73

You probably think that all rooftop bars would have an amazing view because...it's on the roof, but Spire 73 surpasses them all! It's located on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental hotel, overlooking all of Downtown L.A., and is considered to be America's tallest open-air bar. So cool!

BEST CUISINE: MARGOT

Food is usually overlooked when it comes to bars. People mainly think about what drinks they'll be toasting with, or grabbing with a friend, but Margot has an amazing selection of cuisine, and in my opinion, one of the more prettier bars! It has a great mixture of a modern, neutral, minimalistic, and outdoors-y look. They have an amazing variety on their lunch menu like lamb meatballs, roasted chicken sandwiches, and wild arugula salad.

FOR THE CURIOUS: NOMAD

If you love trying a bunch of different drinks or are just not sure what to get, then you're in luck because this bar allows you to do just that. The NoMad Cocktail Book by Bar Director Leo Robitschek features 300 recipes + 100 new ones from their bar program. Cheers to that!

MINIMALISTIC: SORRA

Not only is this bar minimalistic in its decor, with the beautiful neutral-toned color palette, but their drink selection is quite simple, too. They have just about 10 cocktail items from the menu with classics such as a whiskey sour and an old fashioned (but with a twist!) Sorra's old fashioned uses Trinidad and Tobago Dark Rum - yum!

PERFECT FOR BRUNCH: PERCH LA

I love Perch LA on a Sunday morning - there's just nothing like it. You can hear the busy streets of DTLA while sipping your favorite drink, and later head to the fashion district to do a little shopping. Just like Mama Shelter, it's perfect for the day time, but without the bold, bright colors. The atmosphere is just so beautiful, it would even be a great place to host a bridal shower!
