NYFW Trend Report: Fall 2020
We were able to enjoy another successful NYFW this past week and I loved seeing all the designer's Fall/Winter 2020 collections. Take a look below for some of my favorite trends I spotted on the runway.
PlaidĀ
I've written about the plaid trend a few times before, and this NYFW proved the pattern is here to stay. Plaid graced so many of the runways during fashion week and played an integral role in one of my favorite shows, Michael Kors.
BX Styling Tip : Let the plaid stand on its own and pair with neutrals or black.
Green
You guys know that I am not always one for color. However, I was obsessed with all the differing shades of green (especially the dark romantic green) that kept reappearing during the NYFW shows. These greens seen above, left to right, in Brandon Maxwell, Longchamp and Marc Jacobs were absolutely stunning and looked so beautiful on everyone.
BX Styling Tip : Go for a monochromatic green look to really make a statement!
Knitwear
Who doesn't love hearing that the coziest clothes in your wardrobe will allow you to be the most fashionable in the room? Knitwear had a moment at NYFW in sweater, co-ord, and dress form, and I am so excited for these snug yet stylish pieces to come out. Some of my favorites are above from Michael Kors.
BX Styling Tip : Pair your knit outfit with knee high boots to elevate the look.
Volume
Brandon Maxwell and Khaite debuted pieces with heavy volume and a whimsical elegance. NYFW proved evening wear will be bringing the high volume drama come Fall!
BX Styling Tip : Dress these looks down and apply the trend for summer by finding beachy pieces with volume.
Understated, Sparkly Details
I absolutely loved all the super understated glitter details that adorned many of the pieces I saw at NYFW. From Khaite to Prabal Gurung, these barely there sparkle details added grace and glamour to every style. Left is Khaite, Middle and Right are Prabal Gurung.
BX Styling Tip : I love adding an edgy component to looks with a more girly feel like glitter. Pair a glitter detailed top with a leather piece for an added grunge feel.
