5 Winter Trends You’ll Be Seeing Throughout The Cold Months
January feels like the definition of winter coast to coast. Because I am LA based, I don't experience too much of a cold season, often traveling elsewhere to find colder weather. When the temperature does drop below 60, however, I make sure to take advantage of the opportunity to show off some of my favorite heavier coats and winter styles.
Below you'll find 5 trends you'll be seeing coast to coast during the winter months!
1. PLAID
Jacket (Right) : H&M (sold out, similar HERE) + Coat: & Other Stories
No matter how many times it reappears, plaid always returns with a unique twist. More recently, we've seen an increase in the dad-ish plaid shirt jacket, featured on the likes of Hailey Bieber, Anine Bing, Kendall Jenner and fashion girls everywhere. I love this trend because it is stylish, yet relaxed and pairs so well with a leather legging or dark blue jean.
Plaid pieces are also such chic winter pieces because they allow for a pattern or pop of color during winter when so many of us divert to exclusively dark colors or neutrals (how many times have you worn your staple long camel coat this week?) Opt for a plaid skirt, legging, or coat to diversify your winter wardrobe.
2. LEATHER ON LEATHER ON LEATHER
Black leather and faux leather pieces have always been in style. However, I've been noticing an increase in head to toe leather ensembles and leather two piece sets that are so fun for winter. Zara, Asos and Revolve have amazing options right now for all your chilly season style needs.
3. RELAXED DENIM
Relaxed denim. If comfort and style have never gone hand-in-hand for you, you'll quickly find yourself filling your closet with these comfortable yet chic pieces. Style with a form fitting black turtleneck and belted blazer cinched at the waist to add some fit to the style.
4. SQUARE-TOED SHOES
Shoes (top): BY FAR + Shoes (bottom): Bottega Veneta (similar HERE)
The square toed sandal took over everyone's Instagram feed during the summer months into fall. Lucky for us, the trend is carrying over into the winter months with the easy transition to the square toed boot. This style is sure to impress and is incredibly easy to pair with any look.
5. TINY BAGS
They may be small, but they definitely pack a punch. Tiny bags are a fun sized statement piece that scream cool girl. Next time you find your look lacking, add one of these small, yet striking accessories for some character.
