Unconventional Masking
One of my favorite ways to chill out after a long day is to take a bath and do a face mask. There is nothing like applying a mask to make your face look and feel great. Due to traveling so much and the hot, dry LA weather, my skin has been feeling extra dry and dull so what better way to fix that than to treat myself. Something that I’ve been adding into my self-care routine lately is doing masks for other problem areas like my lips, hands, feet and under eyes. I love treating these areas with masks. Below I’m sharing some of my favorite masks that I use when my skin needs a little extra R&R!
Under Eyes: There’s no better way to make you look awake and fresh than treating your under eyes to extra moisture. Moisturizing that skin prevents against dark circles and wrinkles, which is always helpful and needed when you’re on the go. My go to under eye treatment is the Patchology Illuminating Eye Gels. These eye gels are rich in Vitamin-C and paired with Green Tea Extract to give your under eyes an instant glow and lift! These are perfect to pack for vacations and even use while on the plane.
Lips: You will never catch me without chapstick or vaseline, especially in the winter. Lips are one of the first things to get chapped on your face because of how thin the skin is, so it’s extra important to keep these areas moisturized. Recently, my favorite way to moisturize my lips is by using lips gels and overnight masks. I love using the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask to ensure that my lips are soft and smooth when I wake up. Using this lip mask overnight ensures that you will wake up with soft and luscious lips. In addition, this mask also plumps your lips and diminishes those small, annoying lines. I have also been using the Kiehl’s Buttermask treatment overnight when my lips are super dry because it has coconut oil and that always gives extra moisture! Another perk is this mask has mango butter, giving it an amazing smell.
Hands: When my hands need more hydration than just lotion, I love using different hand/nail masks. These are also so easy and fun to bring on long flights, kind of makes me feel like I’m at a spa rather than on an airplane! My favorites to bring with me are the Kocostar Nail Therapy Multivitamin Nail Treatment and the Sephora Collection hand mask. I love using these to give my nails and hands some extra love!
Feet: To finish off an at-home spa night, I love to use feet masks! When it comes to moisturizing, feet aren’t always the first thing to come to mind but they need their fair share of love too. When it comes to moisturizing my feet, the Sephora Collection foot mask and the Patchology PoshPeel Pedi Cure are two great options. The Patchology mask removes dead skin and exfoliates the rough patches, which is so nice when you don’t have any time to spare to get a pedicure.
