Easter weekend 2015

We had so much fun together as a family this weekend celebrating Easter!
On Good Friday, Jadyn and I explored The Huntington Botanical Gardens, a place I’ve been meaning to check out for a while now and glad we finally went! It was so tranquil, educational and just so much fun- Jadyn brought her binoculars to view all kinds of interesting plant life, birds and insects. The greenhouse area was especially cool, she was able so see and feel what it’s like in the rainforest and was able to check out carnivorous plants up close.
I’m considering becoming a member for the summer so we can go to either explore or relax- there’s also an art gallery we are hoping to visit the next time.

Saturday we headed to the Rose Bowl for a massive egg hunt and spring festival. Jadyn enjoyed face painting, train rides and of course the candy-filled eggs!
Saturday night we went to an amazing service at church and had dinner after at 800 Degrees… if you were following along on Snapchat (username: thriftsnthreads) you saw how much Jadyn loves to dance anywhere that’s playing good music, she kills me!

She left the sweetest note to the Easter Bunny that night (also a Snapchat moment) and my heart melted. I really hope she never stops believing in any holiday magic…although I’m assuming we probably only have a year left at most before some rude kid at her school spoils all the fun.
Sunday we went to brunch at one of my favorite spots on Melrose, Gracias Madre. The food is not only amazing but so is the design of the entire restaurant.

We later decorated eggs and went for an egg hunt! Overall, it was a great long weekend celebrating family time and the real reason for Easter… #heisrisen
