The BX Edit: In-Flight Essentials
My job requires me to travel a lot, which I'm so thankful for and look forward to each and every one of my trips, but flying can be a daunting thing if you're not so used to it. No matter how long, and how many times a year I fly, I always keep a few essentials with me that will make the experience even better. Below you'll find a list of essentials practical for any duration of flights, as well as my most favorite ones I never travel without!
SLEEP SUPPLEMENTS
I honestly don't know where I'd be without my sleep supplements! I always take them right before take off to ease any nerves I may have, and help reduce the time it takes me to fall asleep. They also do a great job of helping me stay asleep (because no one loves turbulence). I always reach for OLLY Sleep, it has melatonin, L-theanine, and botanicals, such as chamomile, lemon balm and passionflower which is used to help soothe and relax!
MAKEUP WIPES
As you know, I've been trying to replace my beauty products with cleaner alternatives -- you can find my post about it here. That being said, I cannot travel without having makeup wipes in my bag. Even if I'm not wearing any makeup, I still love to use them to clean and freshen up my face -- especially after taking a much needed nap. My favorite clean makeup wipes are the ones from Honest Beauty -- they smell amazing and can even be purchased at your local drugstore!
SILK EYE MASKS
Eye masks are a complete must, no matter if your flight is three hours or 13! It helps me to fall asleep (and stay asleep, very important), and in a way calms me since it shuts everything out of sight and lets me to focus on relaxing. I recommend using a silk eye mask as that helps keep premature wrinkles at bay! Your skin loses moisture as you sleep, and you can times that by 10 when you're in high altitudes, so wearing a silk eye mask will reduce the moisture loss around the eyes and keeping wrinkles away! My favorite? The Slipsilk sleep Mask.
MISTS
Mists are great for hydration, glow, and a refresh after (and even during!) long flights. I can never go on a plane without my lilah b. Aglow Face Mist for a quick refresh! Not only does it smell divine, but this lightweight mist invigorates and enlightens myself with a subtle glow. I love using it after a nap to help me wake up, but honestly, you can never have too many face mist breaks! 🙂
PORTABLE CHARGER
I always carry my Anker Portable because I love being able to charge my phone anywhere at any time, at home I never plug my phone into the wall either- I just charge it with my portable charger whenever I need a charge. I also use the portable to charge my computer on the go so I can work from wherever and not base it on where there’s an outlet. This charger holds 7 charges so it lasts quite a while before it needs a charge itself. To charge the charger I use this external port, it charges it much faster than a typical power source.
FLIGHT POUCH
For all these essentials, you're going to need something cute to carry it all in. I love taking a makeup bag that fits all my travel-sized beauty products, while leaving some room for my portable charger, supplements, and eye mask. I usually go for a medium to slightly large bag that doesn't have too much structure so it can easily carry all my essentials!
